Ismail's father reached out to Advanced Medical Technologies in June 2019. The child, born in 2015, was diagnosed with autism at age two. The boy's father — a true hero to his family — wasn't stopped by any border closures during the pandemic lockdown. He studied how stem cell therapy works on his own and was determined to try our specific technology.
Before: Ismail was a fairly intellectually intact child, but his tantrums and agitation didn't allow for an acceptable quality of life for him or his family. Hours of screaming, crying, and meltdowns — he couldn't respond to the world any other way. Both positive and negative reactions took the same form. If they were in the car, he'd kick the front seat in a tantrum; at the zoo or outdoors, he'd scream and kick; at the pool, it was panic.

After: Just a month after the transfusion, in situations that used to trigger a meltdown, he began responding completely appropriately to people and the whirlwind of visual, tactile, and auditory experiences around him. Five months in, he showed a healthy curiosity about everything, exploring spaces and textures, and began communicating with both family and strangers. Here he is running on the sand and playing with water with another boy. Here he is hugging his sister or calmly swimming in the pool. He stopped being afraid of other children and started initiating contact with them himself. Dramatic outbursts disappeared from everyday life, along with constant overstimulation. It would once have been unimaginable that he could get a haircut with clippers so soon, without sedation or being held down by two people. Or that his physical coordination would allow him to ride a bike or train on stairs and rope structures. The boy stopped being afraid!
Today, Ismail's level of social functioning is identical to that of a typically developing child.
